Following local requests to Commonside Community Development Trust to provide a community based shop for re-cycled and re-usable household items, they had the interesting idea to refurbish the bus stop toilet block, conveniently situated just across the road from their successful community centre.

We undertook a difficult and very dirty dimensional survey of the toilets that had been unused for many years. We then prepared drawings showing recommended improvement works and shop display layouts, incorporating revised entrances and new windows. We also suggested the inclusion of a “café kiosk” as a future employment and income generator and also for the convenience of the many local bus passengers.

The Trust is currently using our designs, plans and budgets to consult the community and hold discussions with the local council and bus company.
